Q & A With Lola Tash, Part 2

Published on September 9, 2010

Q: What’s your favorite part about playing ‘Gisela’ in Connor Undercover?

A: I love the fact that she’s so obnoxious. I can act so over the top and it doesn’t look weird because that’s her personality, that’s who she is. And then there are times when I can be very serious and smart and sad, because she does have that past [where] she had to leave everything and just abandon it all. So she’s very interesting.

Q: Do you speak Spanish?

A: No, I don’t. I have a tutor on the show who teaches me the lines and how to pronounce them. I love it because I get to rant in Spanish and it’s really, really fun.

Q: How long have you been acting?

A: Exactly a year prior to getting the role in Connor Undercover. I did an audition for Connor Undercover the first week I had an agent. This was the audition I really wanted. I liked the role and I liked the concept. But I didn’t get the role then. They said I was too young. But then a year after, I got another call saying there’s another audition for ‘Gisela’. So I auditioned and I got it … after a lot of work. I had to work hard for it. I had to take classes and study Spanish.

Q: What else do you like to do other than acting?

A: I love singing, I love dancing. I like writing. Not necessarily scripts, but lyrics and stories. I love reading — reading is my favorite. I can sit at home for a whole day and not do anything, just read. My favorite book is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin.

See Lola Tash as ‘Gisela Calicos’ in Connor Undercover every Friday at 9:30 PM EST/PST on Family Channel Canada.
